US Veterans Touring Across Vietnam
US Veterans Touring Across Vietnam
A delegation of 31 U.S. tourists including several veterans from the American war are touring back to battlefields across Vietnam, where they fought for their own survival 30 years ago.
The tour started yesterday in Hanoi and is planned to end in Ho Chi Minh City on April 30, the last day of the war.
For almost all of the veterans, it is the first time they have come back to the memorable places since 1975 when they left Saigon as the losers.
The tour is sponsored by the Commemoration Fund of US War Veterans in Vietnam.
According to local media, the move is an active contribution to the development of the Vietnam - US relationship.
In Vietnam on these days, almost all political, social and cultural activities are attached to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of national reunification.
A huge number of war veterans from both Vietnam and US and tourists from all over the world are flocking to Ho Chi Minh City to mark the event.
