Vietnam is considered one of the most dynamic and stable countries in Southeast Asia. The increasing population, a rising appetite for goods and services, rapid urbanization, and growing economic activities in industrial and service sectors are exerting increased pressure on energy supplies in Vietnam. Its electricity demand is forecast to increase at a high rate over the coming years with 8.5% per year for the 2021-2030 period.

Meanwhile, the rising cost of energy is one of the biggest challenges facing businesses today. Therefore, availability of adequate and reliable energy supply is an essential prerequisite for maintaining Vietnam’s enviable record of socially-inclusive economic growth and achieving the government‘s socioeconomic development goals, as well as realizing a green path in the context of deep integration with the global economy and rapid urbanization and industrialization.

“By leveraging the building blocks of digitalization, such as service platforms, smart devices, cloud and advanced analytics, businesses have the opportunity to optimize electricity network flows and innovate with customer-centric products,”said Noel Hupont, President, Electrification, ABB Vietnam. “ABB Electrification is offering solutions to help businesses reduce cost and drive efficiency as well as contribute to Vietnam moving toward becoming more sustainable.”
