Vietnamese and Australian businesses specializing in shrimp and rice will have the opportunity to foster cooperation and investment through field visits focused on smart agriculture. These reciprocal visits and surveys, scheduled to take place in Vietnam from March 18-22, 2024, and in Australia from May 6-10, 2024, are part of a broader initiative.
This initiative falls under the umbrella of a one-year Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) project launched by Beanstalk. CSA represents an effective strategy for farmers to adapt to climate change and bolster food security, involving numerous stakeholders from the rice and shrimp value chains in Vietnam.
These visits and surveys aim to establish and strengthen collaborative ties between Australian and Vietnamese companies, promoting smart agriculture initiatives to adapt to climate change in both countries.
Participating business leaders will gain insights into sustainable development challenges and receive firsthand updates on the most advanced solutions through visits to leading farms, businesses, and research institutes. They will also have the opportunity to formulate project ideas to address sustainable development challenges in the rice and shrimp industries.
Furthermore, these visits will enhance cooperation by facilitating meetings and collaborations with high-level partners from both the public and private sectors, thereby opening up more opportunities for cooperation and investment.
Mr. William Taing, Director of Beanstalk, stated that market surveys in Vietnam and Australia would bring together leaders from the public and private sectors to build collaborative relationships and commercial projects that yield tangible outcomes for smart agriculture adapting to climate change in Vietnam. He highlighted the ambitious goals set by the Vietnamese government, provinces, cities, and industries, such as the recent approval by the Prime Minister of a project for one million hectares of high-quality rice.
This serves as a foundation for experimentation, innovation, and global cooperation. Beanstalk encourages agribusinesses, innovative businesses, and public sector leaders to submit their ideas and proposals for collaboration to be considered for the 2024 visits and surveys.
