Part of the “Central Heritage Road” tour passes many famous landscapes including the Kim Lien historic site and Cua Lo coast and always attracts many foreign tourists, especially Thai tourists arriving in Vietnam by road through Cau Treo -Ha Tinh border gate. There are more and more Thai tourists coming to Nghe An province.
As the leader of Nghe An tourism sector, Phuong Dong hotel has created a good impression on foreign visitors, especially Thai tourists in the past years. In July 2005, Phuong Dong hotel in coordination with Tan Hong Tourism Company successfully held the reception of a Thai group of visitors in the form of Caravan with more than 30 right hand drive cars. This is a new form of tour which is promising to develop in the future. In 2005 alone, the hotel received almost 6,000 batches of Thai visitors, accounting for 60 per cent of the total foreign batches of visitors. Especially, in October and November, 2005, the hotel received more than 1,500 batches of Thai tourists in which there is an over fifty-person group including Ambassadors, high-ranking officials from foreign embassies based in Vietnam, surveying and visiting provinces in Vietnam, Laos and Thailand.
To advertise activities, Phuong Dong hotel has participated in many cooperation forums and international tourism fairs with the attendance of Thai tourism enterprises such as: Conference of provinces using Highway No. 8 of Vietnam, Laos and Thailand; international tourism fair held in Nakhonphanom province of Thai land, popularising the image of hotel to Thai people via relations with Vietnamese community in Thailand, therefore, Phuong Dong hotel is not only chosen by local travel enterprises but also Laos and Thai companies. In parallel with advertising activities, training, receiving and services have also been improved.
Vietnamese and Nghe An’s traditional dishes, familiar Thai dishes made by the hotel’s cooks trained in Thailand are also served to create a wide diversity of dishes, which are praised and highly appreciated.
Moreover, hotel has also a wide range of enclosed services to meet most of the demands of visitors such as: traditional souvenirs, folk shows serving tourists during meals, and has coordinated with My Lien traditional long dress tailors (ao dai) to open a shop making dresses for tourists.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of the entire staff, Phuong Dong hotel has obtained such achievements and created a reputation as well as attracted tourists, and local and foreign tourist companies. The phrase “Phuong Dong hotel” is now very well-known in Thailand.
