Vietnam, South Africa to Boost Tourism Cooperation
Vietnam and South Africa have affirmed to further enhance cooperation in tourism in the upcoming time, a state-run newspaper reported.
Since the two nations established diplomatic relations in 1993, they have been trying to promote their cooperation in the tourism sector.
Notably, the tie was closer when a group of Vietnamese journalists arrived in South Africa in 2003, Elizabeth Erasmus, Political Consultant of South African Embassy said, adding that the visit has contributed to help Vietnamese people easily travel to the foreign country and vice verse.
Recently, many tourism promotion programs have been launched by the South African Embassy to introduce landscapes, and the culture of this country to Vietnamese people. Such events had drawn the attention of lots of Vietnam's travel agents.
"Our country has rich experiences in tourism environment protection," Erasmus revealed, noting that this is a potential field for tourism cooperation between the two countries in the years to come.
No official figures of the number of tourists from South Africa to Vietnam have been released by the general Statistics Office at the moment.
According to a reliable source from the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the communist country and South Africa will set up a military attaché office in their respective embassies to boost cooperation between the two sides' armed forces.
