Recently, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), VCCI Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh met with a high-level business delegation from Gujarat, India, led by Kanubhai Mohanlal Desai, Gujarat’s Minister of Finance and Minister of Urban Development and Urban Housing.

The meeting aimed to assess opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation and foster new business connections between Vietnam and Gujarat.
VCCI Vice President Nguyen Quang Vinh emphasized the strong growth in economic, trade, and investment ties between Vietnam and India. Indian companies have established more than 500 investment projects in Vietnam, with total registered capital exceeding US$2.5 billion. Vietnam is also one of India’s four largest trading partners in ASEAN. Outlining priorities for future cooperation, he proposed several strategic measures to strengthen ties and establish regular information exchange between the two business communities. VCCI will also actively encourage Vietnamese companies to explore cooperation and investment opportunities in Gujarat.
Minister Kanubhai Mohanlal Desai said that Gujarat is one of India’s most dynamic states, accounting for approximately 18% of the country’s industrial manufacturing capacity and contributing more than 3% of its GDP. With a population of nearly 70 million, the state offers a stable investment environment, supporting the effective implementation of development plans and incentive policies in areas such as infrastructure, land, taxation, renewable energy, seaports, and finance.
He added that Gujarat accounts for more than 35% of India’s total import-export turnover and has an integrated infrastructure system, including the GIFT International Financial Services Center (GIFT IFSC). To strengthen cooperation, the Minister invited VCCI leaders and a Vietnamese business delegation to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027, a biennial investors’ forum and international business event. He also proposed organizing forums and specialized workshops to facilitate direct business exchanges and the signing of cooperation agreements between the two sides.
