VCCI Meets Northern Enterprises
The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) met its member enterprises in the north of Vietnam in Hanoi on June 08, 2006. At the event, VCCI awarded certificates of merits for 22 good-performing enterprises and admitted 64 new member enterprises.
To summarise service works for member enterprises in 2005, Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of the VCCI, said, both cooperation relation expansion and enterprise supports exceeded the yearly targets and equalled 135 per cent compared to 2004. Mr. Loc also spoke of operation directions in the remaining months of 2006 and in several years to come. Accordingly, VCCI will bring its roles toward the business community into full play, especially the chairmanship of APEC CEO Summit and ABAC Vietnam 2006.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Trade Luong Van Tu, the chief negotiator of the WTO accession delegation, informed the negotiation results as well as opportunities and challenges toward Vietnam as Vietnam joins the WTO. He stressed that organisations and enterprises must pay more attention to trade logistics, banking finance and public administrative management. He also informed preparatory activities for the APEC which is to be held in November in Vietnam.
