Hanoi-based Sofitel Metropole Hotel and Anna Mandara and Spa in Nha Trang city, central coastal Khanh Hoa province have been named in the world’s 500 best hotels final list for 2006 by the US prestigious Travel & Leisure Magazine.
The selection was based on opinions of 200,000 readers of the magazine about six criteria including architecture, location, rooms, operation, service provision, and dining.
The Sofitel Metropole, which was built in 1901, boasts a long tradition of excellent services and distinguished style. It is considered the “pinnacle of luxury in the Old Quarter of Hanoi” for its French colonial decor and decadent ambience. And as it is the accommodation of choice for many heads of state, the hotel is accustomed to wearing its position of prominence gracefully.
While, Ana Mandara offers its guests a unique experience in simplicity, serenity and refinement, blending graceful architecture and gracious service, peaceful atmosphere and captivating scenery.
The Resort reflects the real image of Vietnam, with its warm hospitality, rich culture and unique tastes.
Earlier this year, the Hanoi Sofitel Metropole Hotel and Ho Chi Minh City-based Caravelle Hotel have been listed in the category of 18 most favorite hotels and resorts in the Asia-Pacific region by readers of DestinAsian, the luxury travel and lifestyle magazine.
The honorable rankings have contributed to improve prestige and image of Vietnamese hotels, urging other local hotels to further enhance their standards to make Vietnam not just a favored destination for business travelers, but for leisure travel as well.
Vietnam has nearly 6,000 accommodation venues with 130,000 rooms and 2,600 one-to five-star hotels including around 20 five-star, 48 four-star and 116 three-star.
