Su Tu Den to Tap 22Mln Barrels of Crude in 2007

Vietnam’s third largest oilfield Su Tu Den plans to produce 22 million barrels of crude oil in 2007, or 60,274 barrels a day, up 11.11 per cent on year, Nhan Dan Daily, the mouthpiece of Vietnamese ruling party, quoted a operator’s source as saying.
 
The Su Tu Den (Black Lion) output will account for 17.14 per cent of the national crude oil output set for the year.
 
In 2006, the southern offshore field, which is being operated by Cuu Long Joint Operating Company, tapped 19.8 million barrels, or 54,245 bbd.
 
After three years of operation ending in November 1, 2006, the field, located in Cuu Long Basin, produced 73.3 million barrels, said the daily newspaper.
 
Cuu Long JOC hopes the commercial production of Su Tu Vang (Golden Lion) field in 2008.
 
Cuu Long JOC will carry out testing drills to measure reserves in Su Tu Nau (Brown Lion) and Su Tu Trang (White Lion), expecting to begin commercial production in the following years.
 
Cuu Long JOC is a joint venture among the US's ConocoPhillips, South Korea's KNOC and SK; France's Geopetrol and Vietnam's PetroVietnam.
