According to Bach Khoa Internetwork Security Centre (BKIS), 12 out of 22 securities companies’ websites, or 54 per cent, can be easily attacked and controlled by hackers at any time.

“With security loopholes, hackers can change transaction information and stock indexes, and post false information on the stock market on attacked websites,” Mr Nguyen Tu Quang, Director of BKIS, said. “Without timely detection, wrongdoers can take benefits and cause losses to other securities investors.”

BKIS said it sent recommendations and solutions to owners of 12 susceptible websites. In November 2006, eight bank websites were also warned of serious security gaps.
