PM Okays US$67Bln for Key Transport Infrastructure
Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung April 11 approved key transport infrastructure works, valued at US$67.57 billion, from now till 2020.
PM Dung directed mobilization of all sources for these works, in service of the country’s industrialization and modernization.
In 2007-2010, Vietnam will build new sections of the North-South Expressway linking Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho, highways of the “Two Belts, One Economic Corridor” policy jointly pledged by Vietnam and China, and the International Container Port of Van Phong and northern Lach Huyen port in Haiphong City.
From 2010 to 2020, Vietnam will complete construction on remaining transport works of the “Two Belts, One Economic Corridor” policy, and highway linking Dau Giay in Binh Duong province and Dat Lat.
The ASEAN country will also finish building a railway serving aluminum exploitation and production in Central Highlands provinces, and the International airport of Long Thanh in the Dong Nai province. (VNA)
