Vietnam to Export US$2Bln Electronic, Computer Parts This Year
Vietnam has targeted to ship aboard over US$2 billion worth electronic and computer parts this year, up from US$1.7 billion last year, said Tran Quang Hung, general secretary of Vietnam Electronic Industries Association.
In the first eight months of this year, the country was estimated to export $1.31 billion, up 24.6 per cent over last year, Tran Quang Hung noted.
Currently, the country mainly ships its electronic products and computer parts to the ASEAN countries, Japan, South Korea and the U.S.
Vietnam also strives to raise the market share of the products in the Japanese market to 3 per cent in 2010 from 0.8 per cent last year with earnings of $1 billion in the year.
The Southeast Asia country has set to earn $4.7 billion from exporting electronic parts and computers in 2010, confirmed the former Ministry of Trade (currently is the Ministry of Industry and Trade). (Youth, GSO)
