Seventh SoftMart to Open in HCMCity Late September
Hundreds of domestic and foreign enterprises have registered to take part in the seventh Information and Communications Technology (ICT) software and solutions market (Softmart 2007) to be in Ho Chi Minh City from September 27-30, state media said.
The SoftMart 2007 will focus on new requirements, such as improving quality and efficiency to successfully implement the government’s plan to develop the ICT market and a plan to develop science and technology in Ho Chi Minh City by 2010.
Together with Softmart 2007, a national seminar on developing the domestic software market and a seminar on identifying intellectual property rights for software products will also be held.
In addition, there will be a wide range of activities such as providing technology and management assistance and meetings between suppliers and clients to develop useful initiatives during the event.
Firstly organized in 2001, SoftMart has been attracted attention of hundreds of domestic and foreign businesses who have sole around 7,000 ICT software, solutions and equipment which are being applied effectively in the industry.
It is estimated that the ICT industry will bring in up to US$7 billion in revenue by 2010. (CPV, VietNamNet)
