Eximbank Sees 9-month Profit up 71 per cent to US$25.6 Mln

The Vietnam Export and Import Commercial Bank (Eximbank) said its pretax profit surged 71 per cent on-year to hit VND473 billion (US$25.6 million) in the first nine months of this year.
 
The figure is much higher than the profit the bank gained in the first eight months at VND370 billion.
 
Eximbank targets pretax profit of VND610 billion for the whole year.
 
As the end of September, the unlisted bank had total assets of VND30.3 trillion, total deposits of VND21 trillion and outstanding loans of VND15.5 trillion.
 
The Ho Chi Minh City-based bank opened 32 branches and transaction offices since the beginning of this year, bringing total to 56.
 
Eximbank is operating with registered capital of VND2.8 trillion and plans to raise it to VND3.73 trillion (US$233 million) this year. It has recently agreed to sell 15 per cent stake to Japan’s third largest bank Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group Inc (SMFG) for US$225 million. (Vietnam Economic Times)
