Vietnam, Hungary Eye US$70-Mln Trade This Year
Two-way trade between Hungary and Vietnam could climb US$70 million this year from US$57 million last year, Hungarian Ambassador to Vietnam Vizi Laszlo said.
He made the statement while attending a press briefing to introduce the photo contest named "Lindynette' 20 Beautiful Women" held by the Hungarian pharmaceutical company Gedeon Richter Plc last Friday.
The diplomat, however, expressed the current turnover is still below the two sides' potentials and hoped it would boom in the coming years.
Vizi affirmed Hungary wants to boost the presence of its traditional export items in Vietnam and to expand investment cooperation in other fields such as waste management, infrastructure engineering services, IT solutions and technology transfer.
The ambassador also unveiled some of these fields could be facilitated by a EUR35 million (US$52.5 million) aid scheme offered by Hungary to Vietnam. (VNS)
