Vietnam Services Export Hits US$6 Bln in 2007
Vietnam was estimated to export US$6 billion worth services products in 2007, representing an on year increase of 18.2 per cent, local media said.
The revenue was mainly contributed by some key services sectors including tourism, labor export, banking, finance, telecom and transport.
Meanwhile, the country also spent US$6.4 billion on services import last year, up 24.9 per cent on year, mainly for services related to consultancy, experts, technology, and education.
Vietnam is trying to raise its services export value to US$12 billion in 2010.
Under the recently approved export development plan, Vietnam aims to achieve an annual growth rate of 16.5 per cent for service exports during the period. The expected yearly increases of insurance, telecom, finance and sea transport will be 29.3 per cent, 24.5 per cent, 22.4 per cent and 21.5 per cent, respectively. (New Hanoi)
