Vietnam to List Among German Visitors' Most Favorite Spots By 2015
Vietnam, the sun warm Southeastern Asian nation, will become one of the most attractive destinations for German travelers by 2015, according to a recent survey by the Berlin-based Tourism Intelligence International (TII).
Vietnam is known as an emerging safe and friendly destination for holidaymakers, including the Germans, TII Managing Director Auliana Poon said, adding that charming Vietnamese culture and history also lure foreign tourists.
Vietnam and Thailand’s tourism background resembles each other. However, Vietnam’s is more natural and special than Thailand’s, noted Auliana Poon.
German population now travels more than they used to be. Last year, 48.5 million German populations went abroad for holidays, up 24.5 million compared to 1977.
It is estimated that, 50 million German people will go abroad for holiday by 2015. Asia region, especially Vietnam and Indian will be their favorite choices.
Vietnam has five natural and cultural world heritage sites recognized by UNESCO, including the complex of Hue monuments, Hoi An ancient town, the My Son sanctuary, Ha Long bay, and the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. It also boasts other world intangible heritages, namely the Tay Nguyen gong culture in addition to Hue royal music.
The country welcomed more than 20,240 German arrivals in the first two months of this year, up 13.8% on-year. (Pioneer)
