12th ASEAN Financial Minister Summit in Danang

The 12th ASEAN Financial Minister Summit in Da Nang has begun. This is a significant yearly event presided over by Vietnam, one of three host governing countries.

 

The summit is attended by the representatives of member countries and other important guests, including the World Bank CEO, President of Asian Development Bank, and governor of the State Bank of the hosting countries (Vietnam, Thailand and Brunei) in the three successive years.

 

The Summit is held from April 1st to 4th, 2008. Senior Vietnamese government leaders will give opening speeches at the summit.

 

On this occasion, the Finance Ministers from 10 ASEAN countries and the Secretary General of ASEAN cooperatively make analysis, assessment and reaction about world and regional economic issues as well as decisions on the financial association program in the region.
