Apparel Exports Fetch US$3.3 Bln, Up 19 per cent in Jan-May
Vietnam is estimated to have shipped abroad US$3.25 billion worth of textiles and garments in the first five months this year, up 19 per cent on-year, the General Statistics Office reported.
May’s export value is US$710 million, compared with US$700 million in April.
This year, the sector is expected to make export turnover of US$10 billion, surpassing the set goal of US$9.5 billion earlier.
“The figure of US$10 billion is quite reachable if Vietnamese garment exporters make the best of every opportunity to boost exports to the U.S. market,” said the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
