Vietnam Airlines to Sell 20 per cent Stake to Foreign Partners

The national flag carrier-Vietnam Airlines-said it is allowed to sell between 10 per cent and 20 per cent of its stakes to foreign strategic investors.
 
The unlisted air carrier will retain 70 per cent-80 per cent state-owned stake as instructed by the Government.
 
Vietnam Airlines will keep the existing stake and issue additional shares to raise its registered capital. The airlines has a capital of VND10 trillion (US$625 million) now.
 
At present, the airline is preparing for privatization, such as selecting advisors, evaluating assets, having financial statements audited and classifying labor.
 
Vietnam Airlines is the sole one state-owned airline in Vietnam. The country has two other joint stock airlines, Jestar Pacific Airlines and Vasco; and two private airlines, Vietjet and Airspeed Up. (Laborer)
