Bao Son Corporation said it will put into operation a US$100-million park in northern Ha Tay province in September this year, state media reported recently.
 
The 20-hectare park, part of An Khanh New Urban Area and just 12 kilometers west of Hanoi&rsquos downtown, houses areas for entertainment and art performance, traditional craft villages, ecological tourism and gastronomy.
 
It will include a 5,000 square-meter ancient town, a copy of the life of Hanoians during the of the 19th century and the next decades.
 
An area of the country&rsquos 15 most famous craft villages like Van Phuc silk village, Phu Lang ceramic village, and brocade knitting village of the Thai ethnic people will be built in the park.
 
Coming to the park, visitors will enjoy a lively ocean world with two artificial mountains, 2,000 varieties of fish and many kinds of rare coral.
 
The park is expected to welcome around 10,000 local and foreign tourists a day once it is operational.
 
Ha Tay province owns advantages for tourism development as it is adjacent to the capital city of Hanoi and is home to many traditional handicraft villages. It also houses 22 landscapes, including Huong Pagoda, Dong Mo, Suoi Hai, Ba Vi and Huong Son.
 
The tourism development is now considered the province&rsquos key economic sector, particularly eco-tourism area, which is targeted to account for 35 per cent of the province&rsquos total number of visitors by 2010. (VNA, Pioneer Online)
