Vietnam Capital Receives 655,700 Inttâ€l Arrivals in H1

Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam, welcomed 3.8 million visitors, including 655,700 foreigners in the first half of the year, an on-year increase of 12.4 per cent, state media said.
 
The markets with largest number of tourists to the city came from China, Thailand, the U.S. and Australia, the local tourism department said without revealing revenues for the period.
 
Currently, Hanoi boasts 34 3-5 star hotels, which meet only 70 per cent of international tourist demand during this &ldquohot&rdquo tourism season.
 
The city is expected to welcome 7.6 million visitors, including 1.4 million foreign tourists and earn revenue of VND15 trillion (US$937.5 million) in 2007, up 9 per cent and 7.5 per cent respectively over the last year.
