Vietnam to Invest VND36.78 Tln for Waterway Infrastructure by 2020

The Vietnamese Ministry of Transport has just approved an amended master plan for waterway infrastructure development program costing VND36.78 trillion (US$2.2 billion) from now to 2020.
 
Vietnam will open international container transport routes and domestic lash routes, turn ship fleet into younger ones with total capacity of 12 million tons.
 
The Asean country will modernize ports, quays in Red River and Mekong Delta regions.
 
The scheme will help meet the increasing demand for water transport in Vietnam. (Vietnam Economic Times)
