Vietnam to Increase Investment for Culture

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that in 2009 the sector will increase its investments for cultural activities suitably with the country’s economic growth pace.
 
Speaking at the conference to plan programs this year, Minister Hoang Anh Tuan said that the ministry will continue propagandas and advertisement of cultural, sports and tourism programs at home and abroad.
 
Regarding sports, the ministry will particularly focus on application of scientific advances in training athletes.
 
A lot of urgent measures will be taken to stimulate the tourism sector this year, with the target of luring more than 25 million tourists, including 4.3 million international arrivals, and earning a revenue of VND65 trillion, the minister said.    
 
Addressing the workshop, Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan affirmed the country owns many criteria for the tourism development such as various culture, natural resources, low labor fees, stable political system and favorable geographical conditions.
 
If Vietnam’s tourism takes advantage of factors, and concurrently builds a tight management mechanism, the sector will gain great achievements, the deputy PM asserted. 
   
The Deputy PM also asked the ministry to cooperate with the ministries of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Education and Training, and Health to work out all development programs involved in family and report to the government in July this year. (Website of CPV, Capital Security)
