The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will help Vietnam better manage ODA-financed projects.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment said that it has set up the Vietnam Investment Evaluation Association (VIEA) to cooperate with government agencies to supervise and assess efficiency of foreign-funded projects.

The association includes experts and high-ranking officials from ministries, agencies and project management units as well as representatives from non-government organizations.

The VIEA is expected to serve as an independent evaluation mechanism on efficiency of foreign-assisted projects.

Donors have pledged US$5 billion ODA for Vietnam each year. (Vietnam & World Economy)
