Vietnam Expects to Attract US$10B from APEC Countries This Year: ABAC Official
Vietnam is expected to draw more than US$10 billion in foreign direct investments from Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) countries this year, according to a senior official of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC).
Vietnam’s ABAC Chief, Hoang Van Dung who is Vice President of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), said that nearly 200 executives, researchers and officials from 21 APEC member countries would attend the ABEC meeting slated for Aug 24-27 in Vietnam’s central city of Danang.
Participants are expected to call on regional leaders to look at sustainable development cities, food and energy programs as well as assistances of small and medium enterprises, Dung noted.
Between January and July, Vietnam licensed US$10.118 billion in FDI, compared with US$53.895 billion in the same period last year, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said in a statement. (VNA)
