Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2009 Launched

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) officially launched the Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2009 at a ceremony held on July 10 in Hanoi.

 

The annual award aims to honour and praise businesses which have well practised their corporate social responsibility as well as raised enterprises’ awareness of the corporate social responsibility’s role and benefit to the business community’s sustainable development.

 

All businesses of all economic sectors operating in Vietnam can register to attend the award for two fields, either environment or labour. They need not pay any fees as joining the event.

 

According to VCCI Vice President Doan Duy Khuong, the award will encourage businesses to continue improving working and living conditions for their workers as well as protecting the environment, calling on their workers to join the process, thus enhancing their prestige and competitive edge, making it easier for them to integrate into the world economy.

 

Awarded enterprises will get opportunities to meet and exchange experiences together as well as update information on partners’ requirements for the corporate social responsibility, CSR strategies in the world through forums and particularly will have their own information posted on the organization board’s website, at the address www.vbli.vn. .
