Vietnam will organize a business forum in Berlin in September this year, the fourth of its kind to be launched in Europe, said the Vietnamese commercial counselor in Germany, Nguyen Minh Dung, on August 2.

The forum is expected to attract nearly 350 Vietnamese businesses from Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Russia and Ukraine along with 20 Vietnamese commercial counselors, Vietnamese ambassadors from European countries and dozens of businesses from Vietnam, he said.

The meeting will focus on four main issues, including cooperation among Vietnamese businesses in Europe for sustainable development, overseas Vietnamese investments in the homeland in the crisis and post-crisis periods, interactive support to boost exports to the EU and the strengthening of activities of the Vietnamese businesses association in Europe.

This is a chance for Vietnamese businesses to exchange experience, expand cooperation and give each other mutual assistance for further development, Dung, who is also a representative of the Association of Vietnamese Businesses in Germany and the forum’s organizing board, said.

Dung said that the event would be one of the major activities to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Vietnamese-German relations along with the Year of Vietnam in Germany, which will be held next year.

As of late May this year, 20 out of 27 EU member countries had invested in 798 projects in Vietnam worth US$11.8 billion, of this, US$7 billion was disbursed. (VoV)
