Tourism Info Center System to Be Built in Vietnam
A system of tourism information centers will be built across Vietnam to advertise the country’s tourism potential.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association have given a green light to Vietbooks and Tai Loc groups to facilitate the project.
The project will be carried out over four years from 2009 to 2012.
This year, Vietnam Info Centers will be built in Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Thua Thien-Hue, Khanh Hoa, HCM City and Can Tho.
Vietnam welcomed 2.17 million foreign tourists in the first seven months of this year, a decrease of 18.7% on-year.
International tourists to Vietnam is forecast to drop 10%-12% this year due to the effects of the global economic downturn and the A/H1N1 flu epidemic. (New Hanoi)
