All economic sectors and authorities in Ho Chi Minh City must intensify administrative reform to attract more investment, particularly FDI, state media reported, citing municipal Party Committee’s Secretary Le Thanh Hai.

The city should also speed up infrastructure projects with due attention given to anti-flood works, the Thanh Nien newspaper reported.

The metropolis expects GDP growth rate of between 7.5% and 8% and its CPI will rise 7.7% this year, Hai said at the 17th meeting of the municipal Party Committee.

The Vietnamese Ministry of Planning and Investment said Ho Chi Minh City licensed 267 FDI projects totaling US$1.14 billion in the first nine months of this year, down 87.5% from a year earlier. (Young People)
