Collecting Opinions for Drafting Decree on Tax Management Law

The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) has recently collaborated with the Ministry of Finance to organise a conference in Hanoi to collect opinions to amend and supplement the Decree No. 85/2007/ND-CP, which directs the implementation of the Law on Tax Management.

 

The Law on Tax Management and the Government’s decrees, including the Decree No. 85/2007/ND-CP, have unified administrative procedures on tax issues into a legal document. Since the law took effect in July 1, 2007, the law observance of taxpayers has been significantly improved. However, after two years, the Decree 85/2007/ND-CP also exposed shortcomings that need to be addressed, supplemented or amended.

The General Department of Taxation drafted an alternative decree to the Decree 85/2007/ND-CP. It states the objectives and requirements of the amendments and supplements to the existing decree in order to ensure the consistence and unanimity of current legal documents on tax.

 

Opinions will be summarised and studied by the compiling committee.
