Vietnam Exports $11.373B Worth of Agro-forestry, Seafood in Jan-Oct
Vietnam is estimated to have earned $11.373 billion from export of major agro-forestry and seafood products in the first ten months of 2009, the Government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said.
Between January and October, exports of handicrafts decreased 22.7% to $143 million, coffee decreased 17.3% to $1.404 billion from a year ago, while exports of timber and woodworks fell 14% to $1.996 billion, and cashew nut dropped 13.5% to $104.5 million.
The country also witnessed a decrease in seafood export by 18.7% against the same period last year to $3.488 billion, and rice exports were down 7.8% to $2.377 billion.
Among products with increased export are cassava up 59.6% to $489 million, tea- up 14.3% to $145 million, pepper and vegetable & fruits increased at the same rate of 6.4% to $295 million and $361 million in value, respectively. (GSO Oct Edition)
