FDI into HCM City Down 89.7% to $822.4M in Jan-Oct

Ho Chi Minh City pulled in a total foreign direct investment (FDI) of $822.4 million in the first ten months of this year, down 89.7% from a year earlier.
 
Of the sum, $475 million came from 295 newly-licensed projects and the rest from the added capital of 94 existing projects.
 
In October, the local authority granted licenses to 40 FDI projects valued at $26.7 million.
 
High-tech science, finance, credit, banking, insurance, logistics and services were the most attractive areas for foreign investors in HCM City so far this year.
 
The city now has 3,092 valid FDI projects totaling $27.14 billion, ranking the 1st nationwide. (Investment)
