Russia Will Not License More Vietnam Seafood Exporters by Year's end: Vasep
The Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phyto-sanitary Surveillance (VPSS) will not grant import licenses to more Vietnamese seafood exporters from now to the year’s end, the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers said on its website.
The association said it VPSS sent a document earlier in late Oct to the Vietnam National Agro-forestry and Fisheries Quality Assurance Department under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The VPSS had allowed an additional five Vietnamese seafood firms to export to this market namely Minh Hai Seafood JSC; Anh Long Co. Ltd, Huy Nam, Co. Ltd, Basefood, and Kien Cuong Seafood Processing and Im-exporting JSC.
To date, 39 Vietnamese firms are eligible to export seafood to Russia which is expected to buy US$200 million worth of seafood in 2009, Vasep said. (Vasep)
