Vietnam Appeal Exports Down 1.1% to US$8.18B in Jan-Nov
Vietnam’s apparel export revenue is estimated to have fallen 1.1% from a year earlier to US$8.18 billion in the eleven months of 2009, the government’s General Statistics Office (GSO) said Nov 26.
The country exports US$720 million worth of apparels in Nov, down 8.98% against last month and up 4.35% compared to the same month of last year.
Vietnam is estimated to have spent a combined US$6.63 billion on importing cottons, textile fibers, cloth, materials and accessories for the apparel and footwear industries in Jan-Nov.
Of the total, the country spent US$352 million on importing cottons, down 15.3% on-year, US$721 million for textile fibers, down 0.3%, US$3.82 billion for cloth, down 6.9%, and US$1.74 billion for apparel and footwear materials, down 20.8%. (GSO)
