Vietnam to Allow Luxury Hotels to Open until 2 a.m. Early 2010
All high-end hotels in Vietnam will be allowed to open their entertainment facilities until 2 a.m. from early next year instead of 12:00 a.m. currently to attract tourists and improve business activities, according to a new government decree.
Under the new rule, bars of three- to five-star hotels and discotheques and karaoke lounges of four- to five-star hotels can open until 2:00 a.m., according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung has asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to select hotels to join this pilot program until the end of next year.
By September 2009, the country had 303 three- to five-star hotels, including 32 five-star hotels and 92 four-star hotels. (VNA)
