Vietnam Agro-forestry, Seafood Exports Bring in US$15B in 2009

The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) said that the country has so far this year exported around US$15 billion worth of agro-forestry and seafood, up US$1 billion from the set target.
 
Of the total, export of farm produce is estimated to have brought in more than US$8 billion while exports of seafood brought in US$4 billion; and forestry products, US$2 billion.
 
The MARD said that in 2009 export values of almost all of key farm produce like coffee and rubber decrease despite sharp increase in volume.
 
Meanwhile, export values of such farm produce as cashew nut, vegetable, tea and cassava rose suddenly to US$850 million; US$350 million; US$180 million and US$800 million, respectively. (Liberated Saigon)
