Vietnam is trying to raise its investments in Cambodia to US$6 billion in 2015 from the current US$900 million.

The target was announced at a seminar to boost Vietnam’s investments in Cambodia held in Ho Chi Minh City on Dec. 26 in presence of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and his Cambodian counterpart Samdech Hun Sen.

At the seminar, Vietnamese and Cambodian businesses inked a number of deals worth US$6 billion in the fields of power generation, food processing, fertilizer production, rubber plantation and bauxite mining in Cambodia.

Vietnam has to date poured nearly US$900 million into 60 projects in Cambodia, ranking the third among 50 foreign investors in the neighboring country. (Labor, CPV)
