Vietnam Jan-Nov Clinker Imports Down 21% to 2.7M Tons

Vietnam imported 2.7 million tons of clinker worth US$100 million in the first eleven months of 2009, down 21% and 37% from a year earlier, respectively.
 
In November, the country bought 321,900 tons totaling US$11.3 million, soaring 41% in volume and 39% in value on-month, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said on January 4.
 
During the eleven-month period, Thailand was Vietnam’s biggest exporter with 2.5 million tons valued at US$93.9 million, down 10% and 24% on-year, respectively.
 
It was followed by Taiwan with 109,500 tons costing US$4.4 million, the ministry added. (Vinanet)
