Vietnam Raises Passenger Services Fees at Airports
Passenger service fees for overseas flights from Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport will be raised by 30% to US$18 from April 1, according to a Ministry of Finance’s new decision.
Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi will keep the fees at US$14 per passenger while other airports will charge US$8 per passenger.
The service fee for domestic flights will range between VND30,000-40,000/passenger.
Children aging between 2 and 12 years of age will get a 50% discount in all cases.
The ministry earlier allowed local air carriers to raise ticket prices from March 1. National carrier Vietnam Airlines was the first one to announce new prices starting today (Mar 10), with an average increase of 12%-13% from the current ones in average.
Other carriers including the low-cost Jetstar Pacific have also sent their plans for new prices to the Vietnam Civil Aviation Administration. (Markets)
