Vietnam Imports from Australia +38.3% to $144M in Jan-Feb
Vietnam imported $70 million worth of goods from Australia in February, up 30% on year, raising the country’s total imports to $144 million in the first two months of this year, up 38.3%.
The country’s main imports were metals with $55.38 million, up 66.2% on-year, wheat worth $36.2 million, up 38% and pharmaceuticals worth $3.83 million, up 49.1%, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said.
Imports of animal feed and materials reported the highest on-year rise of 400.2% to $1.94 million, said the ministry.
Vietnam fetched $2.3 billion from exported goods to Australia in 2009, dropping 46.1% from a year earlier. (vinanet)
