Taiwan Firms Invest $22.58B in Vietnam So Far: Ministry

Taiwan companies have to date invested $22.58 billion into 2,130 projects in Vietnam, ranking the second among countries and territories making direct investment in the country, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said.
Taiwanese firms, including Compal Electronics Inc., the world’s largest contract manufacturer of notebook PCs and Foxconn Group, the world leading electronics provider set their footnotes in Vietnam.
In the first seven months of this year, Taiwan businesses poured a combined pledged capital of $939.9 million, ranking the 5th among foreign investors in the Southeast Asian country during the period. (MPI)
