Canadian Firms Eye PPP Projects in Vietnam: Official
Many Canadian companies are showing their interests on public-private partnership (PPP) projects in Vietnam, said Stockwell Day, said President of the Treasury Board and Minister Responsible for the Asia-Pacific Gateway Corridor Initiative of Canada.
These enterprises gained much experience from building metros and expressways in India’s Mumdai and China, thus they will be not only good consultants for Vietnam but also partners with huge capital mobilization capital, Day noted.
More Canadian firms are eyeing the Southeast Asian country as an attractive destination, particularly in the areas of industrial production, natural resources and financial services, the official added.
Vietnam and Canada will sign an investment protection agreement soon to help two-country businesses boost investment to each other, he emphasized, giving no specific time for signing.
Canadian companies have invested $4.7 billion in 99 projects in total in Vietnam so far, ranking the 13th among foreign investors in the country, the Planning and Investment (MPI) said. (Investment)
