Vietnam Launches First Tourism Manpower Recruitment Website
The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) and the Hotels’ Association have launched the first website on manpower recruitment for the tourism industry.
The portal will provide all information about recruitment services, manpower demand as well as professional exchanges to the needy.
The industry now employs nearly 1.4 million direct workers, accounting for 3% of the country’s total workforce, with thousands of companies operating in the field.
The country received a record five million foreign tourists and 28 million domestic visitors and earned VND96 trillion (nearly $5 billion) tourism revenues in 2010.
It aims to attract 5.5 million foreign arrivals this year, up 10% on year and have tourism revenues of VND110 trillion ($5.64 billion).
Last year, the tourism industry contributed 3.9% or VND73.8 trillion ($3.78 billion) to the national GDP. The figure is expected to reach 4.6% in 2011. (Economy & Urban)
