Like other southeast provinces, Tay Ninh also grows rubber trees and its productivity is the highest in the country. Rubber trees are developed very rapidly in the province in the past 10 years, far exceeded initial development targets of local authorities. And, many rubber growing and processing companies are set up to tap the potential and contribute to local socioeconomic development and social security. Tan Bien Rubber Company Limited is one of the typical examples.
Tan Bien Rubber Company, incorporated on December 20, 1985, is a member of Vietnam National Rubber Group (VRG) and was transformed into a sole-member limited liability in January 2010. The company specialises in reclaiming land, planting, caring, exploiting and processing rubber. The company currently has a rubber area of 6,165 ha. With the permission of the Government of Vietnam and the Vietnam National Rubber Group, Tan Bien Rubber Co., Ltd is promoting the investment for 14,000 ha of rubber in Kampong Thom province, Cambodia. The new rubber farm is expected to be tapped in 2014, with the first 200 ha.

Besides, the company presently has four farms, namely Xa Mat, Tan Hiep, Bo Tuc and Suoi Ngo, one mechanical transport enterprise, one latex processing plant, and one medical centre. Its main product lines include natural crumb rubber like SVR3L, SVR5, SVR10, SVR20, SVRCV50 and SVRCV60; and latex like HA and LA. The operating area of the company covers eight communes in two border-sharing districts of Tan Chau and Tan Bien, Tay Ninh province. Hence, the company is also tasked to coordinate with local authorities to ensure national security and defence in the area.

In 2013, the company confronted with more difficulties because rubber price slid and it had to replace 230 ha of old trees. The company expanded its operational scopes (bottled water production and pet bottle production) to ensure living conditions for workers. Annually, the company spares a good sum of money for social development programmes in the locality like donating funds for the poor, funds or Agent Orange victims, and other charitable funds. Particularly, the company spends nearly VND1 billion each year on further training for workers. In addition, to meet the growing demand of customers, the company has developed and successfully applied the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system and its latex and crumb rubber have been certified. The company was handed the Vietnam Quality Award by the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2006 and 2007 and was awarded the Vietnam Trusted and Quality Enterprise Certification.

To protect the environment, the company invested VND4.39 billion to build a wastewater treatment system and plans to upgrade it to a higher standard. With its continuous efforts and achievements, the company was honoured with the First-class Labour Order (2005), the Second-class Labour Order (2000), and the Third-class Labour Order (1995), the Third-grade Victory Order (1996), and the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister (2010) among many other noble merits.

Despite current difficulties against the rubber industry in general and the company in particular, Tan Bien Rubber Co., Ltd is confident to make long strides in business operations and contribute more to socioeconomic development of Tay Ninh in particular and the entire country in general.
