The VCCI Ho Chi Minh City branch held May 31 a symposium which revolved around a project to technically assist local thanh long (blue dragon) growers. Under the project, farmers will be provided with plantation techniques, post-harvest training, HAACP standard guidance and assessment on insect harm.
Research on European markets, analysis on competitiveness of made-in-Vietnam thanh long around the world market and formation of a relating promotional programme are also part of the project. Presenting at the meeting were representatives of the Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, economic experts from the U.S Consulate and enterprises.
