On October 10, 2023, the Politburo enacted Resolution 41-NQ/TW, delineating a framework for building and nurturing the entrepreneurial force in the contemporary era. This resolution underscores the pivotal role of enterprises and entrepreneurs in socio-economic development, with a notable emphasis on environmental protection and proactive responses to climate change.

On the occasion of Entrepreneurs’ Day, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh convenes a meeting with outstanding entrepreneurs, lauding their invaluable contributions to the nation’s progress and expressing his gratitude for their relentless efforts in driving national development

A cornerstone of Resolution 41-NQ/TW is the imperative to propel enterprises and entrepreneurs toward green growth. This directive opens avenues for the development of environmentally sustainable practices. It delineates specific tasks and solutions aimed at enhancing institutional frameworks and policies related to environmental protection and climate change response. These policies are designed to facilitate access to financial, technological, and technical resources crucial for sustainable development.

The resolution places a premium on sustainable development, particularly the trajectory toward green growth. This focus instills a heightened awareness among entrepreneurs regarding their roles and responsibilities in safeguarding the environment and addressing climate change challenges.

To translate these aspirations into tangible outcomes, the resolution proposes solutions to bolster enterprises' access to financial, technological and technical resources for sustainable development. This approach enables them to harness advanced technologies, mitigate environmental impact, and optimize resource and energy efficiency.

However, the journey toward fostering a green and sustainable environment is undeniably arduous. Enterprises and entrepreneurs must undergo a paradigm shift in their awareness and mindset to navigate the nuances of the evolving business landscape. This necessitates concerted efforts from businesses, entrepreneurs and governmental authorities. Access to resources for sustainable development requires collaborative support from the government and international financial institutions. Simultaneously, enterprises must adeptly navigate and conform to evolving regulations on environmental protection and climate change, necessitating meticulous preparation to meet increasingly stringent requirements.

Some economic specialists advocated for close collaboration between enterprises, entrepreneurs and authorities to seize opportunities and surmount challenges. This collaboration should prioritize improvements in institutional frameworks and policies pertaining to environmental protection and climate change response, ensuring coherence, consistency, and feasibility. Governmental policies incentivizing businesses to invest in green and sustainable production are crucial, alongside the development of comprehensive standards and technical regulations related to the environment and climate change.

Moreover, increased investment in research, development, and the application of advanced science and technology in production and business is essential. Propagating awareness of sustainable development among business leaders forms a pivotal aspect of this transformative process.

With concerted efforts from enterprises, entrepreneurs, and authorities, Resolution 41-NQ/TW can emerge as a potent catalyst, inspiring Vietnamese enterprises and entrepreneurs to foster a green and sustainable environment. This collective endeavor holds the potential to make substantial contributions to environmental protection and effective responses to climate change.
