VCCI Leader Elected Vietnam-Korean Friendship Association President

Dr Vu Tien Loc, President of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) was elected president of the Vietnam-Korean Friendship Association when the association’s executive board met on December 16, 2005 in Hanoi.
 
At the meeting, the participants heard reports about the association’s activities in the 2002-2005 period and its orientations for the 2007 period. Accordingly, since the second congress of the association, 2002-2007 period, it has organised many activities in political, economic, cultural and community fields, thus making a contribution to promoting Vietnam-Korean friendship and co-operation. The association has become one of the most active and effective associations within the Vietnam Union of Friendship Associations.
 
Dr Vu Tien Loc said that in the 2006-2007 period, the association would develop its affiliates in enterprises and universities which had relations with the Republic of Korea. In particular, it will maintain and diversify its activities, co-operating with activities of VCCI and bringing the activities to localities, diplomatic missions and Korean enterprises. Dr Loc went on to say that in the coming time, the association would focus on develop its relations with the Vietnam-based Korean embassy and the Korea-based Vietnamese embassy, combining the association’s activities with those of the two embassies. Accordingly, the association will build its website and exchange links with the embassies’ websites. Also, in the coming time, the association will continue to develop its co-operation with individuals and organisations including the Vietnam-Korean Friendship Exchange Association, the Vietnam-Korean Fund, and KOVIET, to organise trade and investment promotion between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.
