Vietnam Business Forum has an interview with Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga – President of the Management Board of the King Valley Ltd. Co.
Recently, many new golf courses have appeared in Vietnam, could you please give your assessment on the development potential of this special business as well as the advantages of Dong Mo Golf Course?
The development of golf in Vietnam will go hand in hand with the development of the economy. This has reflects its potential during a period when the Vietnamese economy maintains a high growth rate on the road to integration. For a long period, Dong Mo Golf Course was the only one in the country. This golf course became familiar to many golfers – the majority being foreign investors from large companies and economic groups as well as entrepreneurs, diplomats and politicians in Vietnam.
Despite the opening of many new golf courses, it can be said that, Dong Mo Golf Court has still has a special place in the hearts of golf club members and familiar clients.
Dong Mo Golf Course is located in the tourist community of Dao Vua (King’s Island) – Dong Mo was developed and is managed by the King Valley Ltd. Co. This is the first 36–hole golf course of international standards in the North occupying 360 hectares of land and 1,500 hectares of lake-surface with beautiful rolling hills and mountain landscapes. The course has the best natural view in the Southeast region. With its favourable geographic position, this tourism complex has great potentials for developing tourism, sport and recreational activities.
Regarding integration, each enterprise has its own preparation plans. Would you like to tell us your plans for this trend?
Due to the unique features of tourism and golf, our clients are mainly foreigners coming from many countries around the world. Therefore, the services should meet the highest standards of international quality. More than others, we have to better prepare for integration.
Dong Mo Golf Course is of international standard. We have invested in developing and equipping standard infrastructure and facilities. The old Lakeside Golf Course has been upgraded. The new five-star Mountain View Golf Course has been developed. New facilities, equipment and supporting works have been built. As a result, we have a comfortable and beautiful resort satisfying all clients’ demands. In the time to come, we are planning to build a new tourism entertainment zone, a complex of villas and guest houses to formulate the tourism - sport community in order to attract more people of different strata.
Our trade mark has become famous just not only at home but also abroad. The name of Kings Island Golf is recognised in Vietnam and around the world. The place-name of Kings Island - Dao Vua, Dong Mo has been written in many tourist guide books of the United Nations, Australia and many other countries.
Could you please share with us your experience as well as the advantages and difficulties of being a female manager in this new development period?
According to my experience, enterprises should go ahead to learn about the advantages and difficulties in their business field in order to have good preparations. As a result, they can catch opportunities and minimise the risks in their business.
After integration, there will be many competitors, while the protection policies of the State will be lessened. However, for businesswomen, I would like to emphasise three difficulties they should overcome.
After integration, the market and business opportunities will be enlarged. However, not every enterprise can develop well in this new environment. Therefore, they have to be strong enough and prepare suitable conditions for utilising these business opportunities.
For enterprises, integration requires management skills, modern technologies and advanced working style. For managers, they should have more overall and broader evaluation and monitoring capacity.
Integrating in the modern business place, businesswomen should know how to arrange their time to fulfil their role in the family as well as in business.
