Investing in technology for higher production value
Technology innovation and production modernization have been identified by Gia Lai's industry and trade sector as key solutions for improving productivity, quality, and product value. In recent years, many businesses across the province have invested in technology, standardized production processes, and built sustainable value chains. Among them is Hai Binh Gia Lai Cashew Joint Stock Company, a leading agricultural processor known for its wood-roasted cashew nuts that reflect the distinctive identity of the Central Highlands.
Rather than pursuing mass production, the company has focused on the premium segment, prioritizing product quality, packaging, traceability, and customer experience. Its products meet international standards, including HACCP and ISO 22000, and have earned the national five-star One Commune One Product (OCOP) certification. They are also sold through major retail chains and airports nationwide. Alongside product development, the company has developed raw material growing areas in partnership with local farmers, expanded deep processing, and gradually adopted sustainable production practices by improving production processes, conserving energy, reducing emissions, and creating jobs for local workers.
Technology innovation has expanded beyond agricultural processing into the logistics sector. Quy Nhon Port is steadily developing a "Green Port, Digital Port" model as a way to strengthen competitiveness in an increasingly integrated economy. The company is pursuing three priorities: shifting from extensive to green growth, improving equipment efficiency to reduce emissions, and accelerating the adoption of digital technologies in management and operations. Its Smart Port management system integrates artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and more than 400 AI-enabled cameras, helping improve operational efficiency, reduce errors, and optimize port operations.
These developments across the business community show that science and technology are no longer simply a trend but have become key drivers of productivity, quality, and competitiveness in Gia Lai's industry and trade sector.

Advancing digital transformation and e-commerce
As part of its growth model renewal strategy, Gia Lai's industry and trade sector is accelerating digital transformation and e-commerce development as strategic drivers for modernizing commercial infrastructure and expanding business growth opportunities.
According to Duong Minh Duc, Director of the Gia Lai Department of Industry and Trade, during the 2026-2030 period, digital transformation and e-commerce are among the sector's top priorities for strengthening competitiveness, advancing the digital economy, and helping businesses integrate more deeply into global value chains.
Under the province's e-commerce development plan, the Department of Industry and Trade is helping businesses adopt technology, build brands, and expand markets through digital platforms. With strengths in agricultural products such as coffee, pepper, cashews, and passion fruit, along with a diverse range of OCOP products, Gia Lai is steadily bringing local goods to e-commerce platforms, including PostMart, Shopee, Lazada, and the province's own platform. Participation in digital platforms is also encouraging cooperatives, household producers, and businesses to standardize production processes, improve packaging and labeling, apply QR code traceability, and build sustainable brands.
Alongside business support, the Department of Industry and Trade is working with local authorities to organize digital skills training programs for farmers, cooperatives, and household businesses, helping them gradually become "digital merchants."
Digital transformation is also advancing in public administration, from licensing and market information services to business support, contributing to greater transparency, lower costs, and a more business-friendly environment.
With a strong commitment to innovation, Gia Lai's industry and trade sector is turning the spirit of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress into action by advancing technology innovation, expanding digital transformation, promoting e-commerce, and building a modern production base. This will provide a solid foundation for the sector to strengthen its role as one of the province's key growth pillars, supporting Gia Lai's rapid, sustainable, and deeper integration.
